Simultaneous determination of cinnamaldehyde and its metabolite in rat tissues by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry

Cinnamaldehyde (CA), an active ingredient isolated from the traditional Chinese medicine Cortex Cinnamomi, has a wide range of bioactivities. To clarify the distribution characteristics of CA, a selective and sensitive method utilizing gas chromatography–mass spetrometry was initially developed for simultaneously determining the concentration of CA and its metabolite cinnamyl alcohol in rat tissues. Selected ion masses of m/z 131, 105 and 92 were chosen, and separation of the analytes was performed on a DB‐5 ms (30 m × 0.25 mm, 0.25 µm, thickness) capillary column by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry. The calibration curves demonstrated good linearity and reproducibility over the range of 20–2000 and 20–4000 ng/mL for various tissue samples. Recoveries ranged from 86.8 to 107.5%, while intra‐ and interday relative standard deviations were all <11.3%. The analysis method was successfully applied in tissue distribution studies for CA and cinnamyl alcohol. As CA and cinnamyl alcohol may inter‐convert to one another, simultaneous determination of both analytes provides a comparative and accurate data for tissue study. The concentrations of CA and cinnamyl alcohol remaining in spleen were the highest among the main organs, including heart, liver, spleen, lung, kidney and brain. Formation of Azulene-Embedded Nanographene: Naphthalene to Azulene Rearrangement During the Scholl Reaction

Incorporation of a non-hexagonal ring into a nanographene framework can lead to new electronic properties. During the attempted synthesis of naphthalene-bridged double [6]helicene and heptagon-containing nanographene by the Scholl reaction, an unexpected azulene-embedded nanographene and its triflyloxylated product were obtained, as confirmed by X-ray crystallographic analysis and 2D NMR spectroscopy. A 5/7/7/5 ring-fused substructure containing two formal azulene units is formed, but only one of them shows an azulene-like electronic structure. The formation of this unique structure is explained by arenium ion mediated 1,2-phenyl migration and a naphthalene to azulene rearrangement reaction according to an in-silico study. This report represents the first experimental example of the thermodynamically unfavorable naphthalene to azulene rearrangement and may lead to new azulene-based molecular materials.

传统量子系统的哈密顿是自伴算子,哈密顿的自伴性不仅保证系统遵循酉演化和保持概率守恒,而且也保证了它自身具有实的能量本征值,这类系统称为自伴量子系统.然而,确实存在一些物理系统(如PT-对称量子系统),其哈密顿不是自伴的,这类系统称为非自伴量子系统.为了深入研究PT-对称量子系统,并考虑到算子PT的共轭线性性,首先讨论了共轭线性算子的一些性质,包括它们的矩阵表示和谱结构等;其次,分别研究了具有共轭线性对称性和完整共轭线性对称性的线性算子,通过它们的矩阵表示,给出了共轭线性对称性和完整共轭线性对称性的等价刻画;作为应用,得到了关于PT-对称及完整PT-对称算子的一些有趣性质,并通过一些具体例子,说明了完整PT-对称性对张量积运算不具有封闭性,同时说明了完整PT-对称性既不是哈密顿算子在某个正定内积下自伴的充分条件,也不是必要条件.     

Plasmon Coupling-Induced Hot Electrons for Photocatalytic Hydrogen Generation

We present the fabrication of core-shell-satellite Au@SiO₂-Pt nanostructures and demonstrate that LSPR excitation of the core Au nanoparticle can induce plasmon coupling effect to initiate photocatalytic hydrogen generation from decomposition of formic acid. Further studies suggest that the plasmon coupling effect induces a strong local electric field between the Au core and Pt nanoparticles on the SiO₂ shell, which enables creation of hot electrons on the non-plasmonic-active Pt nanoparticles to participate hydrogen evolution reaction on the Pt surface. In addition, small SiO₂ shell thickness is required in order to obtain a strong plamon coupling effect and achieve efficient photocatalytic activities for hydrogen generation.     

Multi-Interactions in Ionic Liquids for Natural Product Extraction

Natural products with a variety of pharmacological effects are important sources for commercial drugs, and it is very crucial to develop effective techniques to selectively extract and isolate bioactive natural components from the plants against the background of sustainable development. Ionic liquids (ILs) are a kind of designable material with unique physicochemical properties, including good thermal stability, negligible vapor pressure, good solvation ability, etc. ILs have already been used in pharmaceuticals for extraction, purification, drug delivery, etc. It has been reported that multi-interactions, like hydrogen bonding, hydrophobic interactions, play important roles in the extraction of bioactive components from the plants. In this review, recent progress in the understanding of scientific essence of hydrogen bonding, the special interaction, in ILs was summarized. The extraction of various natural products, one important area in pharmaceutical, by conventional and functional ILs as well as the specific roles of multi-interactions in this process were also reviewed. Moreover, problems existing in bioactive compound extraction by ILs and the future developing trends of this area are given, which might be helpful for scientists, especially beginners, in this field.     

喷雾干燥-固相煅烧法制备球形钛酸狸负极材料的研究

通过喷雾干燥-固相煅烧法制备了球形钛酸钾.不同于传统喷雾干燥工艺采用固态钛源进行制备,本文采用的前驱体是钾盐,分散剂和钛酸四丁酯制备出的硝酸氧钛的混合溶液.由于制备方法中前驱体为原子级均匀分布,化学计量比可精确控制,制备出的材料颗粒细小,粒径、成分分布均匀,电化学性能优异.同时研究了不同钾钛摩尔比以及煅烧温度对球形钛酸钾的形貌和成分的影响,并研究了其作为钾离子电池电极材料的电化学性能.结果表明,钾钛摩尔比为0.816,煅烧温度为 800 ℃时钛酸钾的电化学性能最好,首圈容量 185.1 mAh/g,30 圈后容量为173.9 mAh/g,循环100圈后还有169.7 mAh/g的容量.
